Hotels</a> chain and international arts patron Dakis Joannou had commissioned the famous Brazilian duo, this project because of their very eco-sensitive ethos and unique use of contemporary handicraft practices and local idioms.</p><br/><p>Wooden scraps in a jumble are decorating walls of the reception and restaurant. This design is so alike those that is used for the designer’s famous Favela Chairs. This pieces can be found in some of the bedrooms and they look stunning.</p><br/><p>Symbols of Greek superstition and mythology are featuring the bedroom walls. Hotel Lone by 3LHD Architects

<p><a href="http://studio3lhd.hr/en/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">3LHD Architects</a> have designed the <a href="http://www.designhotels.com/hotels/europe/croatia/rovinj/hotel_lone" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Hotel Lone</a> in the town of Rovinj, Croatia. The 248-room property is located in the picturesque Mediterranean town of Rovinj, in the exclusive Monte Mulini neighborhood. Built to resemble a sleek white ocean liner floating on the hillside, the hotel offers a wide range of places to wine and dine including three restaurants, three bars and a night club. It also features a Mediterranean-inspired wellness center, a 600-seat auditorium and nine other meeting and conference spaces with state-of-the-art technology. Hotel Lone’s design focus, together with first-rate event and leisure facilities, create the perfect symbiosis of work and play.  A “Y”-shaped structure is created along the coast to give all <strong>rooms spectacular sea or park views</strong>, and a dramatic hotel lobby opens up towards the sky with an atrium spanning six levels. Respect for the environment is shown in the interior design, with integration of the natural surroundings into many of the hotel’s public and private spaces through large glass walls and Prahran Hotel In Melbourne By Techne Architects

<p>The rear of the pub was renovated this year from a tiny back area into what is essentially a play area for adults. The design work was completed by <a href="http://www.techne.comau/" target="_blank">Techné Architects</a>, who envisioned a space that was very visually connected, interactive and dramatic. They certainly achieved that effect with the help of their stunning concrete pipe facade. The three-story renovation makes use of 17 1/2 culvert pipes on the facade and both inside that serve as booths. Windows fitted into the pipes provide porthole views out onto the street. Meanwhile inside, one of the pipes serves as an elevated VIP booth for 10. Architect Justin Northrop tells <a href="http://www.thecoolhunter.comau/article/detail/2175/the-prahran-hotel-melbourne-australia" target="_blank">The Cool Hunting</a>, “Inside you are climbing over the pipes, sitting in them, or on them at various levels. They have a lasting impact on the space.”</p><br/><p>The pipe booths are outfitted with leather upholstery and lined with recycled spotted gum slats and acoustic absorption mats. Reaching up three levels, patrons have a multitude of places to sit, chat with friends and watch the action unfold at the bar. An outdoor courtyard features a corrugated concrete wall and porthole windows, and it’s decorated with wall hangings by <a data-ls-seen="1" href="http://www.ayusbotanical.com/" target="_blank">Ayus Botanical</a>. The main bar is built from salvaged pipes and features concrete cast lamps. Daylighting from the courtyard and from the pipe windows fills the volume making it a far more welcoming space than your typical dingy, dark pub. Recycled spotted gum is also used for flooring and tabletops, and more plants are integrated into the design along the stairs and other wall hangings to fill the space with clean air.</p><br/><p><img
