The happy home of Marij Hessel volume II

The Dutch home of My Attic blogger Marij Hessel was one of the most popular posts of 2014, and for good reason! I was therefore soooo excited to discover the Dutch designer has taken some new shots of her delightful home (and I also found some oldies which haven't been showed here before too). Her white walled and floored home acts as a blank canvas for pretty pastel cushions a mix of scandinavian modern and mid-century finds and bold prints. Marij - we love your style!

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBS8BDQBGRfIRJp2RAc6xbcvOXQFywmK07BPDgYQlHyqi58c_a0jWzl8CKoJ8O9izjD6arJ85MvynlvdThj0IH1wjXXibSljQNf8s8KmPCMrTN0rnxMXnt4owSG8DtoW3FijYE-T9jpqU/s1600/Marij1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; A charming and relaxed Dutch home

This lovely home by a canal in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, oozes charm and happiness. The family of four - Irene, her husband and two little girls - designed the living space themselves and centred everything around the home-made dining table where they like to gather. When Irene is not working as an assistant Product Manager she is busy hunting for flee market finds and working on cool DIY projects around her home which are documented on her blog. I love the relaxed, personal feel of the space. It makes me want to embark on a few DIY projects of my own, how about you?

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; A whimsical floral and pastel home in Belgium

It feels strange writing about whimsical florals and pretty pastels while there's snow on the ground, but that's exactly what sets this home apart. The space belongs to Yvonne Eikkenduijn, her husband Bo and 3 hens in Lommel on the Belgium-Dutch border. Yvonne describes her style as -Scandinavian -English, and I see an element of Dutch too. Yvonne is a photographer, blogger, and author of two books: yvestown in the kitchen and weekend ontbijtboek. She also bakes a mean cake. I could imagine hanging out here with the smell of freshly baked cake hanging in the air, how about you?!

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; A lovely family home in a former kindergaten

Our Christmas tree was cast out last night (always a sad moment!). This can only mean one thing: it's time for early spring, I even brought some tulips (optimist)! What better way to kick off the season than the lovely home of Britta and her daughter Emma Lotta in Oldenburg, Germany? Britta is influenced by Scandinavian style (she works as an interior design specialist for IKEA) and has decorated the space using a monochrome and pastel colour scheme. Her abode also reminds me of some of the Dutch spaces we've seen (such as this and this home) so I wasn't surprise to discover she also enjoys design inspiration trips to Holland. The beautiful old building used to be a kindergaten and has now been transformed into a lovely, harmonious home decorated with a mix of IKEA pieces, vintage finds and nordic design items thanks to Britta's innate sense of style. Bring on spring pastels!

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfUmeQXuasKs9H6NeYwQ6A_afSTUkWL2UHOmvDCVQQvZtN-DPbmF-cljBRJ78xo_eGfVdhhCHcXtMovDZTXC89dXJyknelqr7Xmu8MxFwrbVuzwJU3V92Z3axm7wohgemUVKcCGOvL58A4/s1600/britta1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; The bright and happy home of a Dutch blogger

I love a unique home. One where you can immediately tell something about the owner when you walk in (or see the home tour in a post!). That's why I love the home of Dutch blogger Marlous Snijder (also founder of Oh Marie! magazine), shot by Holly Marder for her 'Homes with Heart' column on Decor8. This home certainly has heart, and bags of it. I love the pops of colour, the quirky touches, and the slightly bohemian feel. I could hang out here all day drinking tea. I think the pink in the bathroom and hall is pretty fabulous!

I also love the rustic wooden benches which appear in a number of pictures. I found the rustic workman's benches I use as a bedside table in my bedroom here.

My daughter has the little yellow Fjäll Räven rucksack (backpack) you see hanging in the hall. It's a real, Swedish design classic and amazingly practical too. It's exciting to see them starting to appear on the backs of people in London too! You can buy them here.

More cheerful Dutch home tour inspiration here, here and here.

Have a lovely day and see you tomorrow!

PS My husband and I are planning on going for a weekend away sans children this autumn- yay! Any tips on wonderful, unique, quirky or simply beautiful places to stay in Europe? Tips very welcome!
